Update from LADOTD on new Eticketing
After a successful year of demonstration projects, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) is adopting electronic batch ticketing (e-ticketing) into practice. This is the ‘lead in’ sentence. Below is the article.
‘A supplemental specification is in the works that will soon be available for use via change order. LADOTD has selected HaulHub as their portal vendor for collection and consolidation of e-tickets. HaulHub has setup the LADOTD Portal, which is a streamlined platform that revolutionizes material e-ticketing for suppliers, contractors, and the Department.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. LADOTD Portal: The portal allows suppliers and contractors to submit material e-tickets in a uniform format, regardless of the system currently used at the plant. This means a supplier may use any e-ticketing vendor as long as their system can send data to the LADOTD Portal. HaulHub offers a straightforward integration process that ensures your data flows seamlessly from your existing system. Best of all, there’s no cost to the plant for this integration. The portal provides access to Suppliers, Contractors, and the DOTD. Now, all parties can view e-ticket information and benefit from shared data. In the near future, we are looking to expand the portal capabilities to include collection of other paper documentation that is transferred on a construction project, such as: certificates of delivery/compliance/analysis and other haul tickets.
2. E-Ticketing Specification: With the success of the demonstration projects and a supplemental specification in the work, LADOTD is looking to requiring e-ticketing for all projects in the near future. Review of e-ticketing data has also led to other specification modifications, such as loosening the batch tolerances for cementitious materials.
Connected Jobsite Technology: LADOTD has partnered with Deleware, Iowa, Nebraska and HaulHub on an Advanced Digital Construction Management System (ADCMS) federal grant to push to boundaries of technology in construction. This project is focusing connecting and collecting data from construct equipment and other data sources from a work zone to utilize in safety data feeds and quality control reporting. We see this as an initial step toward the future of BIM construction. Contractors can seamlessly connect their digitally capable equipment on the jobsite to the portal. This enables automatic notifications to the traveling public when a work zone is active and workers are present. Contractors will be given access to take advantage of this additional data and we’re researching how these additional data points can enhance digital inspection workflows for both the contractors and agencies. All costs are covered under this grant, allowing industry and DOTs to learn and evaluate this technology together.
